International Youth Chess Tournament dedicated to the Independence Day of Azerbaijan

This exciting event, dedicated to celebrating Azerbaijan's Independence Day, was a true testament to the power of chess in fostering cultural exchange and showcasing the immense talent of our global youth.

We are delighted to share the highlights of AYID's recent international chess tournament, which unfolded in the enchanting city of Budapest. This captivating event, held in the charming city of Budapest, brought together young chess prodigies from Azerbaijan, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan.
In collaboration with Azerbaijan House in Hungary and "First Saturday Chess Tournaments," and with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Hungary, Azerbaijan Youth Foundation, Azerbaijani Students and Alumni Platform (ASAP) and the Hungarian Chess Federation we celebrated Azerbaijan's Independence Day while fostering friendship and strategic brilliance among talented young minds.
Ibrahim Safarli, head of Azerbaijan House in Hungary, eloquently opened the event, highlighting the historical importance of Independence Day and its role in promoting Azerbaijan's culture internationally.
Ramil Shukurov, AYID's president and tournament organizer, shared his vision for the tournament, emphasizing its potential to foster lasting friendships and future cooperative endeavors in the chess world.
Nagy László, owner of "First Saturday Chess Tournaments" and FIDE International Chess Organizer, conveyed heartfelt congratulations, encouraging further cooperation between Hungarian and Turkic States' young chess enthusiasts.
The tournament showcased the strategic brilliance of our participants. Across seven intense rounds, these young players captivated the audience with their calculated moves and impressive skills.
At the end, we honored the winners. Kocsmár Ákos emerged as the champion, securing first place. Abil Yaqublu achieved an excellent second place, while Toth Lili demonstrated exceptional talent to claim third place. The winners received prizes and tokens of appreciation. Their achievements exemplified their dedication and talent in chess.
AYID takes pride in organizing events that empower young minds, providing them with international exposure and opportunities for growth. The International Youth Chess Tournament in Budapest showcased our commitment to unlocking youth potential and fostering cross-cultural friendships.
